コビープリスクールなかまちだい
崖や擁壁に囲まれた土地に斜面状の園庭をつくった。 敷地より3ｍ上がった崖の上には園が借用する畑が広がり、園舎から畑への動線確保と既存の高低差を生かした設計が求められた。 園舎手前から崖上まで連続する斜面は感触の異なる複数の素材で構成し、玉付ロープや凸凹丸太等、園児たちの遊びを誘発する仕掛けを施した。 上空を横切るロープウェイは園庭と畑を結んでおり、野菜や畑道具の行き来が可能。 斜面の麓には園舎からテラスが張り出し、ハンモック、可動式テーブル、洗い場、道具棚、らくがき壁などが設けられ、斜面とはまた違った遊び方のできる場所となっている。 園舎裏の閉ざされた土地を園児たちのユートピアとして開放した。

COBY Preschool Nakamachidai
We built a playground on a slope of land surrounded by retaining walls and cliffs. 3m above the site, on top of a cliff is a spread of field used by the preschool. We had to keep in mind the difference in height as well as the linear flow which existed between the building and the field. Various materials with different textures were chosen for the slope area between the school building and cliff top, while ropes with balls attached and uneven logs were placed for an adventurous play. Above the space is a rope way that could be used to transport vegetables and tools between the playground and the field. A terrace that seems like it has extended itself from the building is positioned at the foot of the slope. Hammocks, movable tables, washing area, shelves, graffiti walls, all create a utopia-like space for children to freely explore.
